Details
Pension law reforms have been proposed in Ontario, B.C., Alberta and Nova Scotia. How will the governance and funding of pension plans change? Where are regulatory enforcement and appeals headed? What do the proposals mean for member access to information? What other changes to minimum standards concerning pension plans are on the horizon?
Join us for this live, online CLE which will discuss the most significant proposed reforms, areas of common ground and differences between the recommendations.
A panel of experts will be asked to what extent their recommendations are “catching up” with the modern reality of pension plans, or are intended to effect or lead change in the pension field. Harry Arthurs (Ontario Expert Commission on Pensions), Ron Pink (Nova Scotia Pension Review Panel), and Chris Brown (BC-Alberta Joint Expert Panel on Pension Standards) will provide insights on:
- Governance and funding of pension plans
- The future of regulation and dispute resolution
- The likelihood of increased private sector defined benefit (DB) coverage
- Harmonization issues
- Recommended national legislative or policy changes.
This is a must-attend session for those who want to learn more about this changing legal landscape.
