About
This Section is geared towards those who conduct legal research and wish to maintain and hone their research skills. Its diverse membership includes research and other lawyers with firms, the courts, government, corporatations and law reform and other legal institutes; contract research lawyers; and law librarians in the private and public sectors. The section, which meets at least six times during the year, provides sessions on research resources and processes and substantive legal topics. Topics in the past year included: an overview of the new Wills and Succession Act; an introduction to Maritime Law Book’s National Reporter System online; efficient criminal law research; an overview of the new Alberta Code of Conduct; and judicial consideration of the Alberta Rules of Court.
