Board Elections

After collecting extensive input over the past two years, we know that CBA members believe it’s important for the organization to have a Board of Directors that reflects the diversity of the legal profession, including a mix of practice types, experience, skills, geography and more.

Our new Board of Directors exemplifies this principle.

The voting period to elect the member representing the Northwest Territories on the 2017-2018 CBA Board of Directors is from 8 a.m. EDT on May 23, 2017 until 8 p.m. EDT on June 6, 2017.

Electors are invited to review the profiles of the candidates for the Northwest Territories, including the slate candidate recommended by the Interim Governance & Equality Committee. The committee has been tasked with reviewing the applications and recommending a slate of candidates that best meets the mandatory and preferred criteria outlined in Annex B of resolution 16-01-A.

The Governance and Equality Committee is a Board Committee in the new CBA governance structure. In this transition year, the Board of Directors has appointed an interim Governance and Equality Committee whose seven members reflect the range of geography, diversity and types of practice of the CBA membership.
