Call for nominations: CBA National Health Law Section

The CBA National Health Law Section is seeking nominations for a Secretary, Communications Officer and up to ten Members-at-Large, for the term September 1, 2023 to August 31, 2024.

Secretary*

The Secretary is responsible for preparing minutes of meetings and conference calls in a timely manner, and otherwise assists the Executive as needed.

*As an exception, the Secretary will serve their term in 2023-2024; but move to the Chair position in 2024-2025 and finish as the Past Chair in 2025-2026, which involves a 3-year commitment.

Communications Officer

The Communications Officer is expected to attend meetings and conference calls and is responsible for keeping Section members informed of key Section activities, upcoming events, and opportunities to get involved in the work of the Section. The Communications Officer also engages law students, articling students and young lawyers.

The Communications Officer sequentially occupies each office through to Past Chair, which involves a 5-year commitment.

Members-at-Large

Member-at-Large positions are open to Section members who wish to actively participate in the work of the Section. Members-at-Large attend meetings and conference calls as they are able and provide input or take responsibility for various tasks as they arise. There are many opportunities to assist.

Young lawyers and students with a particular interest or relevant experience are encouraged to apply.

Nominations

Nominations must be received by May 31, 2023. When filling positions, the Section takes various factors into account, including language, geographic representation and diversity. We consider members who are familiar with and active in Section activities, but also seek new participants.
