Roles and Expectations: CBA National Competition Law Section
Any member of the Executive Committee shall cease to hold office upon ceasing to be a member of the CBA or the Section.
All members of the Executive Committee must familiarize themselves with resources provided to Section leaders and operate collaboratively in accordance with CBA policies and procedures.
CHAIR
- Oversee activities and preside at meetings and conference calls
- Report to the Board of Directors as required
1st VICE-CHAIR
- Act for the Chair in the absence or inability of the Chair to act
- Attend meetings and conference calls and assist Executive Committee as needed, which may include taking the lead on one or more initiatives
2nd VICE-CHAIR
- Act for the 1st Vice-Chair in the absence or inability of the 1st Vice-Chair to act
- Attend meetings and conference calls and assist the Executive Committee with member communications, or other initiatives.
- Ensure that Section members are informed of key Section activities, upcoming events, and opportunities to get involved in the work of the Section
EXECUTIVE MEMBER
- Oversee James H. Bocking Award
- Attend meetings and conference calls and assist the Executive Committee as needed, which may include taking the lead on one or more initiatives
SECRETARY*
- Prepare minutes of meetings and conference calls in a timely manner
- Attend meetings and conference calls and assist the Executive Committee as needed
PAST CHAIR
- Responsible for liaison with ABA Section of Antitrust Law
- Attend meetings and conference calls and assist the Executive Committee as needed
*The Secretary sequentially occupies each office through to Past Chair which involves a six-year commitment.
