Robin Sully receives the Tarnopolsky Award

Robin Sully receiving the Walter S. Tarnolpolsky Award.On Nov. 15, 2014, Robin Sully was presented with the Walter S. Tarnolpolsky award for her outstanding contribution to human rights during the almost 20 years she served as the CBA’s Director of International Development.

The award was presented by Professor Errol Mendes, Chair of the Canadian chapter of the International Commission of Jurists at the Canadian Council for International Law’s annual conference in Ottawa. 

Robin’s nomination was supported by heartfelt letters written by 25 senior judges and lawyers from Canada, Asia and Africa who had had the opportunity to work with Robin and experience her passion for supporting the rule of law around the globe.
Robin’s “principled and unwavering commitment to her goals,” her “collaborative and respectful approach to all players” and “boundless energy and enthusiasm” were cited as key reasons for the CBA program’s success.

The award recognizes the significant human rights results achieved through the CBA’s projects over the past 20 years and the personal impact that Robin’s leadership had on achieving those results.
