Ian Morrison, Regional Project Director and Joan Kariuki, Regional Project ManagerThe CBA’s Supporting Access to Justice for Children and Youth in East Africa (SAJCEA) project management team has undergone significant evolution in recent months.  In particular, the SAJCEA project has been pleased to welcome two key, new staff members at the project’s Project Support Office, which is based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Long time CBA International Initiatives Program staff member and lawyer Ian Morrison has joined SAJCEA as the project’s Regional Project Director, taking over as the head of the Project Support Office. Prior to this appointment, Ian had been based in Beijing where he served as the Project Field Manager of the CBA’s Legal Aid for Marginalized Groups project, which worked with the government of China to strengthen the capacity of the Chinese government legal aid program.

Joining Ian at the Project Support Office in the last few weeks has been Joan Kariuki, the SAJCEA project’s new Regional Project Manager. Joan, a Kenyan lawyer with extensive expertise and experience in child justice and international development project work, was previously the Executive Director of Youth Alive!, a Kenyan NGO.

Ian and Joan together head up the CBA’s team on the ground for the project and, in conjunction with Canadian Project Director Darren Thorne, are responsible for the overall management of the project.

We are delighted to welcome both Ian and Joan to the SAJCEA team. Their expertise will be of immense value to the project.
