Parenting Apart:
A Toolkit

CBA Family Law Section

A toolkit of some of the best resources available on co-parenting after separation or divorce

The Successfully Parenting Apart toolkit organizes and consolidates online and print resources offering guidance, information, referrals and resources for resolving parenting challenges post-separation in ways most effective for children.

It is intended to increase family lawyers’ awareness of the best available information to better assist parents in transforming their relationship from being a couple to being successful co-parents. As the first point of contact for many separating parents, effective lawyers need to be aware of the best practices and social science on family restructuring, and should be equipped to easily direct parents to quality resources for further guidance and information.

Prepared by the CBA Family Law Section in partnership with the Canadian Research Institute for Law and the Family (CRILF). CRILF acknowledges, with gratitude, the contribution they received from the Alberta Law Foundation which permitted their in-kind contribution to this project.

The CBA Family Law Section acknowledges and thanks Justice Canada for their generous support for this project.
