LAW DAY 2013
CBA Saskatchewan and members of the 2013 Law Day Committee would like to extend a sincere thank you to all sponsors, volunteers and supporters of this year's Law Day events. The Law Day "Run for the Law" Fun Run raised over $2,500 for CLASSIC and PBLS, despite the chilly temperatures! Team 2 from Yorkton Regional High School won the McKercher Cup after an "All-Yorkton" final facing off against their school counterparts, Team 1. Dr. Samantha Nutt's powerful address on "Why the World Needs More Lawyers" was well attended by CBA members and the public at both luncheons in Saskatoon and Regina. Special thanks to this year's sponsors: The Law Foundation of Saskatchewan, MaPherson Leslie Tyerman LLP, McKercher LLP, Miller Thomson LLP, Saskatchewan Ministry of Justice, The W Law Group, WMCZ Lawyers and Thomson Jaspar & Associates. Pictures from the events can be found by clicking on the above link.
STRATEGIC PLAN 2013-2015
At it annual meeting last August in Vancouver, CBA Council adopted an Association wide Strategic Plan in which all Branches, CCCA and National Office share common priorities and strategies, but each developes its own initiatives. The commonality amoung all is that each local initiative is geared to forwarding the Strategic Plan, ensuring all entities are working toward the same goals. The CBA Saskatchewann 2013-2015 Strategic Plan, approved by Council on April 25, 2013, focuses strictly on initiatives of the Branch. Progress of the Branch initiatives will be reviewed on a quarterly basis and reported to the National Board of Directors. The quarterly reports from throughout the Association will be consolidated annually into one master report showing the overall progress of the Canadian Bar Association. View the plan by clicking on the above link.
