Function: The Compliance Officer contributes to the support, development and enforcement of CREA’s Data Distribution Facility (DDF®). 

Reports To: Legal Counsel


Member Priorities:

  • Provide awareness and use of CREA’s products and services.

REALTORS® Association Community Priorities:

  • Liaise with Boards and Associations to enhance relationship with CREA.

Internal Priorities:

  • Work with Member Support to help resolve DDF® issues and escalateto Legal for enforcement if necessary.
  • Enforce CREA’s DDF® Contract and the DDF® Policy and Rules to ensure DDF® participants are in compliance (including compliance with the Trademark Policy.
  • Work with REALTOR® Members, Technology Providers, Third Parties and/or Franchisors to bring websites in compliance.
  • Proactively audit Technology Providers, Third Parties and Franchisors to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain the complaints and audit spreadsheet that tracks DDF® compliance.
  • Provide contracting support to Member Support:
  • Draft and Assist with execution of Technology Provider and Third Party Agreements.
  • Review Tech Provider and Third Party applications.
  • Ensure DDF® Contracts are inputed into the contract management system and the information is accurate and up to date.
  • Escalate to legal when termination of an agreement is needed.
  • Communicate with Technical Providers, Third Parties, Franchisors, Boards, Associations and/or REALTOR® Members about DDF® updates, inquires and questions.
  • Provide basic technical assistance to Technical Providers, Third Parties, Franchisors, Boards, Associations and/or REALTOR® Members related to the DDF®.

  • Work closely with Member Services, Product Management and IT Services to ensure all user needs are met for REALTOR® Members, Technology Providers, Third Parties, and Franchisors.


  • Knowledge of contract law and trademark law would be preferred;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Well-developed organizational skills.
  • Team Player, flexibility and initiative.
  • Not-for-Profit experience an asset.
  • Bilingualism an asset.
