National General Practice, Solo & Small Firm Conference — Bylaws

WHEREAS the General Practitioners’ Conference of the Canadian Bar Association was established in 1986 to address the needs of lawyers and notaries in general practice, including those in solo and small firms;

WHEREAS the Conference Executive would like to permit greater flexibility when appointing committees to execute the work of the Conference;

BE IT RESOLVED THAT article 8 of the National General Practice, Solo and Small Firm Conference Bylaws be repealed and replaced with:

“The Chair, with the advice of the Executive Committee, shall appoint such committees or Committee Chairs as the Chair deems necessary to carry out the purposes of the Conference or to assist the Executive Committee in the orderly management of the affairs of the Conference.”
