Statoil’s Christine Healy to address in-house counsel at CBA Legal Conference in St. John’s, August 14-17

Toronto  — Christine Healy, Vice President, North America Business Development Projects, Statoil, delivers the keynote address at the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association (CCCA) luncheon on Saturday, August 16. The lunch is part of the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) Legal Conference, taking place August 14-17 in St. John’s, Newfoundland.

Responsible for commercial and negotiation activities related to Statoil's offshore and onshore gas in North America, Ms. Healy’s topic is “A Rising Tide Lifts All Boats: The Offshore Energy Sector in Canada.”

Her remarks will focus on accessing new opportunities, negotiating with partners and potential partners, working with regulators and governments, pursuing business development, managing Statoil's land holdings, and assessing Statoil opportunities in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

Also on the agenda for in-house counsel at the 2014 CBA Legal Conference are workshops on topics including exploring what CEOs want from their in-house lawyers, data management and privacy compliance, workplace fraud, and examining crowdfunding as a new financing frontier.

Other highlights from the agenda include an address from Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin on August 14. Conference keynote speakers include Lyn Heward, former director at Cirque du Soleil; Newfoundland entrepreneur Zita Cobb; and CBC’s Rex Murphy.
