About the Section

The Elder Law Section is working towards increased awareness of the issues involved in elder law. The section may address a variety of aspects of dealing with the elderly and the law. Elder law is complex and therefore a multidisciplinary approach is needed to recognize the various legal, social and health needs. Some of these needs include issues of competency, wills, powers of attorney, accessibility (of offices and also of information, i.e., the font size in documents, increased use of voice mail and email), consideration for the best interests of the elderly and vulnerability (especially financial), health issues and elder abuse and exploitation, to name a few.
