About Law Day
CONGRATULATIONS TO 2011 CONTEST WINNERS
Law Day was first held in Canada in April 1982, as a way to commemorate the signing of our Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Programs such as Law Day provide an excellent opportunity for the legal profession to inform the public about the importance of the rule of law in our society, and the vital role that lawyers and the judiciary serve in guaranteeing an open, independent, and unbiased judicial system. High school students across New Brunswick will conduct "Mock Trials", in which they act out the roles of Crown Attorney, defence lawyers, witnesses and the accused.

LAW DAY 2010
April 15, 2010 is Law Day and the theme this year is Access to Justice. Law Day events provide the public with the opportunity to learn about the law and the legal profession.
In New Brunswick the Canadian Bar Association will be hosting legal clinics in Moncton, Lamèque, Saint John, Rothesay and Fredericton. These clinics are free to the public and offer an opportunity to consult with legal professionals on topics such as wills, powers of attorney, renting or buying a home, or family law.
In addition, the Law Day Committee has invited schools across New Brunswick to participate in contests for various grade levels and courthouse tours, which will take place on Thursday April 15th.
