Report to Members – September 2006
Since CCCA NB’s June, 2006 Annual Meeting, your new CCCA NB Executive Committee has held several meetings and has finalized a blueprint for section events for the upcoming year.
The goals of these meetings were to: organize our schedule of events for the upcoming year; finalize CCCA NB’s operating documents; review our responsibilities; brainstorm about new ways to expand our membership; and finalize our executive meeting schedule for the upcoming year. We are pleased with the progress that has been made toward these goals, and are pleased to report our progress to you, our CCCA NB members.
We are planning several events for 2006-2006. The first event will be hosted by the Moncton Area Lawyers’ Association (MALA). The New Brunswick Securities Commission will be presenting at this event, which is tentatively scheduled for October, 2006. We are in the final planning stages for this event; dates and details will soon be provided to all Members. Our next event will be held during the CBA Winter Meeting, scheduled for February 8-10 in Fredericton. CCCA NB is planning to present a half-day CLE session during the CBA Winter Meeting. Details will follow shortly.
Your new CCCA NB executive has also used the past few months to successfully build relationships with the national CCCA and our CBA NB representatives. We look forward to working with them to further the goals and interests of CCCA NB’s members over the 2006-2007 year.
