Program Description:

Unlike professional development programs that focus for the most part on skill enhancement, Carleton’s Graduate Certificate program combines an interdisciplinary study of the theoretical foundations of conflict resolution with practical skills development. If you are a professional who is already experienced in conflict resolution, you will not only learn new and more effective techniques, you will gain a better understanding of the principles that underlie their application. Your studies will be recognized with academic credits at the graduate level.

Admission Conditions:

To be admitted to the Graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution program, students normally require an Honours undergraduate degree and some experience in conflict resolution. If you do not have an Honours degree you may be considered for admission to the program based on your professional experience and/or related training.

Programme Organization:

Academic requirements for the completion of the program include 2.5 credits (5 courses) and a skills assessment which is completed after coursework (0.5 credit).

The programme is open to both full and part-time students.

Financial Aid:

Please note that students in the Graduate Certificate in Conflict Resolution program are not eligible for Carleton University subsidies or for other provincial government funding generally available to graduate students.
