CBA Council Meeting
Saturday, Feb. 23, 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Council, the CBA’s governing body, meets twice a year to hear reports and to debate and vote on resolutions on current legal issues, public policy and the governance of the CBA. At the Mid-Winter Meeting in Yellowknife you will hear the latest update from the CBA’s Task Force on Conflicts of Interest. You will also hear from the candidates running for second vice president.
The 229 voting members of Council include 137 members elected in the Branches, and 92 designated members, including the National Executive Officers, Branch Presidents and Vice Presidents, and Chairs of all National Sections, Conferences and Standing Committees. Even if you are not a member of Council, you can attend. You may even be eligible to vote. Contact your Branch office to ask about being named as an alternate for a Council member who cannot attend.
Registered guests of delegates attending the Council Meeting may attend the informal Council Luncheon on Saturday, Feb. 23, for an additional fee of $20. Please indicate your choice on the enclosed registration form.
