The National Privacy and Access Law Section offers assistance to the Prime Minister’s Special Advisor in the review of the merits of combining the offices of the Information and Privacy Commissioners. Without drawing conclusions about a merger, the Section stresses several considerations, such as whether a merger would reduce available resources to achieve either of the Commissioners' mandates and the impact a merger would have on current legislative initiatives.
