Modernization of Trade-marks Act:
Letter to Canadian Intellectual Property Office

Intellectual Property Law Section
July 2005

The Intellectual Property Law Section says that the Canadian Intellectual Property Office’s (CIPO) current assessment of Canada’s trade-mark regime is an opportune time to review the anti-counterfeiting laws in Canada. The Section calls for the enactment of a comprehensive regime to fight counterfeiting in the context of the modernization of the Trade-marks Act.
