The Executive also endeavors to ensure that there is a balance between privacy law and access to information law expertise on the executive. Secretary
The Secretary is responsible for taking minutes, and otherwise assists the Executive as needed.
Assuming proper discharge of the functions of the previous office, the Secretary sequentially occupies each office through to Immediate Past Chair. By accepting a nomination, candidates confirm their willingness to make a multi-year commitment including representing the Section at the CBA Mid-Winter (February) and Annual Meeting (August) during the year in which they are Chair. There is currently no funding for those two meetings.
Please confirm whether the candidate wishes to be considered for an Executive Member position in the event he or she is not successful with regard to the Secretary position.
Executive Members
Executive Member positions are open to any Section member willing to actively participate in the day-to-day work of the Section. Executive Members attend meetings and conference calls as they are able and provide input or take responsibility for specific tasks including active participation in Committee work.
Section Committees
We are also seeking expressions of interest from individuals who wish to participate in the National Privacy and Access Law Section Committees.
- Communications
- Continuing Legal Education
- Legislation and Law Reform
**Please note that additional Committees are created on an ad-hoc basis as needed. For example, there is currently a Workplace Privacy Committee. Nominations
Nominations must be received by Friday, June 26, 2009 c/o Edith S. Pérusse. Please include a short c.v. or highlights of the candidate’s experience with the Section, and confirmation of the candidate’s willingness to assume the position, having been made aware of the commitment.
If you or someone you know might be interested in joining a Committee and have the time to help with various activities throughout the year, please contact Edith S. Pérusse and specify which committee you would like to join. For more information on the Committees, please visit the Committee page.
