Section Membership
- The National Military Law Section is a national Section of the Canadian Bar Association. It is necessary to submit a request to become a member of the Section to Chloé Whitfield at the CBA by e-mail including your name, CBA membership number, address, telephone number, fax number and e-mail address or by telephone at (800) 267-8860 Ext. 107.
- Legal officers from the Office of the Judge Advocate General of the Canadian Forces who are members of the CBA are not automatically members of the National Military Law Section. Legal officers must specifically submit a request for membership in the Section.
- Members of any provincial Branch Military Law Section are automatically members of the National Military Law Section.
Mandate
This Section deals with military law, including the military system of justice and operational law, as well as uniquely military aspects of established substantive bodies of law practised by civilians such as criminal law, tort law, intellectual property, employment and human rights law, air law, maritime law and international law.
