Her principal practices of areas of practice are insurance law and professional liability. She has represented the interests and insurers and their assureds before the Courts at all levels. She frequently defends the interests of various professionals in civil actions or disciplinary proceedings, including recently defending accountants in class action proceedings involving investments. She has pleaded various cases in which professionals have sought the protection of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms in disciplinary matters. She has represented Corporations (including insurance companies, brokerage firms) and individuals in the areas of commercial litigation, securities litigation, class-action, insurance and professional liability (including investment advisors, accountants, directors and officers, architects, engineers and other professionals). Me Demers is the managing partner of Nicholl Paskell-Mede.
Ms. Demers graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Laval in Quebec in 1991 and was called to the Quebec Bar in 1992. In 1993, she joined the firm of Nicholl Paskell-Mede and became a partner in 1997. Ms. Demers is a current member of the Canadian Bar Association.
