Activities

The CBA is active in promoting the interests of its members on a number of fronts. To learn more about the wide array of activities the CBA is currently involved in, please follow the links below:

Advocacy
Through its advocacy work, CBA members contribute an important perspective to law reform in Canada and internationally.

Awards

The CBA presents a number of awards and scholarships to recognize exceptional achievements in various areas related to the law.

Equity
Equity is an integral part of the CBA mandate and is entrenched in dedicated bylaws, sections and committees of the CBA.

Financial Services
CBA Financial Services offers superior, low-cost financial and investment services tailored to the needs of lawyers, their spouses and law firm staff.

Insurance
The Canadian Bar Insurance Association offers lawyers, their families and employees a comprehensive range of high quality insurance products.

International Development
The CBA has ongoing legal and judicial reform projects in China, Cambodia, East Africa, South and southern Africa, and Bangladesh on constitutional law, access to justice and the development of an independent, legal profession and judiciary.

Law for the Future Fund
This endowment fund was established, by donations from individuals lawyers, law firms, legal organizations, foundations and corporations, to provide financial assistance for objective, independent and thoughtful Canadian research projects.

Law Reform
CBA members and staff are active in developing government policy and law reform, lobbying on matters identified by members or responding to government initiatives.  

Legal Aid
The CBA works to raise awareness of the importance of adequate legal aid services to our system of justice.
