TORONTO – The Canadian Corporate Counsel Association has named Silvie Kuppek of Toronto as the Executive Director of the Association, effective immediately.

“Silvie brings three essential elements to CCCA: a wealth of experience in conference planning, a legal background, and first-hand experience with our Association,” says Robert Patzelt, Q.C. of Halifax, President of CCCA.

Admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1997, Silvie worked as a legal conference producer with Canada’s leading private company conference provider, where she developed innovative and top-selling CLE programs across Canada.

She then practised as a litigator, primarily focused on product liability class actions, at a leading Toronto class actions firm where she was also responsible for the firm’s client relations management systems.  She has worked at CCCA since 2004, most recently as the Director of Professional Development & Marketing.

Established in 1988, the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association is a conference of the Canadian Bar Association. Its mission is to provide a national forum and voice for in?house counsel to advance the development of their practice of law and enhance their professional skills and careers. The Association currently has more than 8,400 members.
