Law for the Future Fund
The Canadian Bar Law for the Future Fund (LFFF) was established in 1984 by donations from individuals lawyers, law firms, legal organizations, foundations and corporations. Its goal is to provide financial assistance for objective, independent and thoughtful Canadian research projects that are of national interest or of benefit to the general public in the areas of legal research, legal education, legislation and law reform, and the administration of justice.
Since its inception, the Canadian Bar LFFF has helped finance more than 100 innovative and timely research projects, dealing with issues such as the independence of administrative tribunals, law and ethics in health care allocation, recodification of the Criminal Code, gender and racial equality, and the CBA's Systems of Civil Justice Task Force. To date, the total assistance granted by Law for the Future Fund is over $2 million.
