Legal Translator
The Canadian Bar Association National Office in Ottawa is accepting applications for the position of Legal Translator.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Communications, the successful candidate will be responsible for all CBA translation (primarily English to French), as well as the supervision of all third party translators and the revision of their work. As supervisor of the translation coordinator and another translator within the Communications Team, the Translator is an individual who works well with others, understands the importance of precision in legal texts, and can work to tight deadlines.
The successful candidate will hold a law degree and/or translation credentials and have a minimum of five years experience in the translation of complex texts from English to French. Translation at the CBA includes reports and ministerial correspondence, Parliamentary presentations, resolutions, association policy, promotional material, news releases and Continuing Legal Education documentation.
