Programs by Country
CIDA Support and Funding
The CBA receives most of its International Development funding through two funding streams at the Canadian International Development Agency, Partnership and Bilateral.
Partnership Programs
The Partnership program has allowed the CBA to be involved in cutting edge work in countries whose legal professions are at varying stages of development and have vastly different experiences with the organization and development of the legal profession, and all very different than our own Canada experience. The CBA’s activities and the work that we have done in cooperation with our partners in each country has illustrated how well we can tailor programs to unique situations and draw on a variety of Canadian resources to build capacity.
Bilateral Programs
In our Bilateral programs the CBA works with government and quasi-government institutions in developing countries to improve the administration of justice and to increase access to justice, leading to better governance and enhancement of the rule of law.
