Members of the CBA, we are writing to encourage your engagement in our equality work.
The Equality Committee of the CBA has exciting projects underway that will provide benefits to our membership and advance innovation towards equality in the Canadian legal profession.
A Measuring Diversity resource is in development in consultation with a working group with representation from across Canada, consultant Dr. Lorraine Dyke of the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University, and Canada’s legal leaders and firms.
The RARE Finds project has been launched and continues to grow. It provides resources for lawyers and law firm leaders on issues relating to attrition, advancement and re-entry into the legal profession for members of historically marginalized groups, as well as an inspiring showcase of CBA member success.
I write to draw your attention to current opportunities. Even if your current work has not yet involved active CBA participation or leadership roles within the organization, that just means you haven’t done it yet. There is a place for you in the CBA.
