Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Conference (SOGIC) Awards

Recognize excellence within the Canadian legal profession in advancing the cause of equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered and two-spirited (LGBT) people.

  • SOGIC Ally Open to lawyers, professors, law students or retired judges who are not members of the LGBT communities.
     
  • SOGIC Hero Open to lawyers, professors, law students or judges who are members of the LGBT communities.

Women

  • Cecilia I. Johnstone Award
    Recognizes women who have achieved professional excellence in their field and influenced other women to pursue legal careers, supported other women in career advancement or opened doors for women lawyers in a variety of job settings that historically were closed to them.

Staff Achievement

  • The Jack Innes Achievement Award
    Recognizes outstanding contribution to the CBA by a current staff member who has exhibited creativity, innovation, leadership and commitment.
