We commissioned unique research that used online discussion forums to ask individual and business clients from across Canada about what they expect from lawyers.

The results are clear. Today’s legal consumers don’t just want more for less, they demand value for their money – they want to know where, why and how it was spent. Consumers of legal services want their issues taken care of in a timely manner, and with a better than 50/50 chance of winning.

Anyone who still thinks the power in the lawyer-client relationship rests with the former should best be quickly disabused of that notion. Law is no longer a seller’s market. Budget-conscious clients will either be satisfied, or will move their business elsewhere.
