VANCOUVER–Every year through Law Week activities, the Canadian Bar Association celebrates the anniversary of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. This year’s Law Week activities, held April 12-17, included three contests designed for BC youth. The Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch is pleased to announce and congratulate the winners of the following 2004 Law Week province-wide contests:

Barry Sullivan Law Cup Public Speaking Contest
Winner, Josh Domnich, Mission Secondary, (Prize: Barry Sullivan Law Cup & $200)
First Runner Up, Joyce Jubida, John Oliver Secondary (Vancouver) (Prize: $150)
Second Runner Up, Kelsey Zabolotniuk, W L Seaton Secondary (Vernon) (Prize: $100)
Third Runner Up, Justine Raymond, Mission Secondary (Prize: $100)

Short Story Contest
First Place, Hiding a Pearl, Katrina Wiggins, Sardis Secondary (Prize: $150)
Second Place, Scars of Power, Kristin Ory, Mission Secondary (Prize: $100)
Third Place, Blue Hair, Marissa Iannacone, St Thomas More Collegiate (Burnaby) (Prize: $50)

Photo Contest
