Georges A Goyer, QC Memorial Award for Distinguished Service

The CBABC Georges A. Goyer QC Memorial Award for Distinguished Service was created to recognize exceptional contributions to the legal profession, to jurisprudence or to the law in British Columbia. The award was established in 1992 in memory of Georges A. Goyer, QC, a respected member of the Bristish Columbia Branch who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer.

At the Bench and Bar Dinner, in the presence of more than 400 members of the legal profession, Warren T. Wilson, QC received the Georges A. Goyer, QC Memorial Award for Distinguished Service, the highest honor the CBABC bestows.

Mr. Wilson was recognized for his role as a mentor and teacher and for his work on behalf of the Canadian Bar Association, the Law Society, the Law Foundation, the BC Courthouse Library Society, the Faculty of Law at UBC, and the CLE Society.

“To every project, Warren always brings commitment, energy, preparation, intelligence, legal and financial acumen, humour and unfailing courtesy to, and respect of, all others involved. As to his contributions, he has always been a leader, one who is liked and admired by all of those who deal with him in the profession generally and in his firm,” said Kenneth Bagshaw, QC, who co-nominated Mr. Wilson with Debra Sing, QC and Tim Sehmer, QC.
