In response to concerns of members, the Canadian Bar Association BC Branch has established a Task Force to examine the impact on lawyers’ practice as a result of the implementation of the Trust Administration Fee (TAF) by the Law Society of BC.

I am writing to you today as Chair of the Task Force to ask for any input that you may have with respect to the TAF. Specifically, we are interested in hearing how the TAF is affecting lawyers and their firms and clients, any concerns about the process, and any suggestions or alternatives. The Task Force will review the feedback and consider all possible courses of action to address members’ concerns.
