Review and Report on Enduring Powers of Attorney and Representation Agreements

The BC government announced that Albert McClean, a leading trusts practitioner and professor emeritus of law at the University of British Columbia, will review enduring powers of attorney and representation agreements and provide recommendations regarding whether or not enduring powers of attorney should continue to be available, and whether changes should be made to one or both.

Albert McClean will consult with interested public stakeholders, including the BC Branch. His report and recommendations to government are expected by December 31, 2001.

The CBABC Wills and Trusts Sections Representation Agreement Act Review Committee will participate in the public consultations and make submissions.
