VLAP Partners With Salvation Army Program

BarTalk April 2003
Volume 15, Number 2

The Volunteer Legal Advocacy Program (VLAP) has been strengthened by a recent partnership created between the Salvation Army Pro Bono Program and VLAP. This program supports persons living with multiple sclerosis who are financially unable to afford legal assistance and are ineligible under any other program for legal representation.

A vital success factor is the availability and access to the most important resource – volunteer lawyers and advocates. A working relationship with Davis and Company was secured, resulting in a resource of volunteer lawyers committed to making a difference.

This collaboration will have a significant and positive impact on the lives of people with multiple sclerosis who do not have access to justice. The dedication of Davis and Company and the Salvation Army brings the MS Society one step closer to fulfilling their mandate of enabling people affected by MS to enhance their quality of life.

For more information or to volunteer, call Adrianne Boothroyd at 604.602.3204 or e-mail adrianne.boothroyd@mssociety.ca.
