has been appointed by Josephson Angus Barristers as a new associate barrister with their downtown Vancouver commercial litigation law firm. Prior to joining Josephson Angus Barristers, Ms. Low worked at Lawson Lundell in Vancouver.

 

Laura Baptie
has joined Farris, Vaughan, Wills & Murphy LLP Kelowna office as its newest associate. Laura joins Farris’ Kelowna office as a solicitor, working primarily in the areas of corporate and commercial law, real estate, and wills & estates.

   

Catherine Sas, QC
of C.A. Sas Immigration Law Centre is pleased to announce that they are sharing office premises in Gastown with La Liberte and Co and Rita Sidhu, Trial Lawyer.

Christina Spence Proteau
joins Badovinac, Scoffield and Mosley in Port Alberni as Associate Counsel. Christina articled with BSM and was called to the B.C. Bar on May 1, 2009


Kelsey Moore
has recently been called to the B.C. Bar and has joined Goodwin & Mark in New Westminster as an associate. She will practise civil and commercial litigation.

 

Joan Young
lawyer at national law firm Lang Michener LLP, has been appointed as a Director of the Victoria Airport Authority for a three year term. Young is the nominee of the Capital Regional District.

of La Liberte and Co is pleased to announce that they are sharing office premises in Gastown with Catherine Sas, QC of C.A. Sas Immigration Law Centre and Rita Sidhu, Trial Lawyer.

Gal J. Smolar
joins Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP as an associate. Gal previously worked with Ernst & Young Law in Amsterdam, and before that as In-House Counsel with IBM Global Services. Most recently, Gal practised independently in Europe and Israel.


Frederic R. Sierecki
has joined McCrea & Associates, Immigration and Citizenship Lawyers. Frederic was called to the B.C. Bar on May 20, 2009.

 

Gurleen S. Sahota
has joined Edgar & Co. as an associate, where he will be specializing in labour, administrative and human rights law.

Aaron Lightman
has been named as an associate at Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP. Aaron articled with FMC was called to the Bar in July 2009.


Marina L. Sedai
is pleased to announce the opening of Sedai Law Office, an exclusively immigration and citizenship law practice.

 

Altaf Jina
of Park Place Seniors Living has been reappointed to the Board of CLEBC. He has also been re-elected to the Board of Health Employers Association of B.C.

   

Rita Sidhu
will be practising in the areas of personal injury, civil litigation and criminal defence as of October 2009. She will be sharing office space at historic Gaoler’s Mews in Gastown with Catherine Sas, QC, Terry La Liberté, QC and Kasandra Cronin.

Michael Klose
joins Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP as an associate in the firm’s Construction & Infrastructure and Corporate Commercial Groups. Michael previously practised with Lawson Lundell LLP.


Tom Hakemi
has formed Hakemi & Company Law Corporation, focusing on complex commercial litigation matters and government investigations in areas that include securities, shareholder and partnership disputes, defamation, and commercial contracts.
