The 2000 recipient of the President’s Medal was Sandy Jakab-Hancock, Senior Legal Counsel, Policy and Legislation with the British Columbia Securities Commission. “Ms. Jakab-Hancock is a committed volunteer who does a very thorough job on every task she takes on,” said CBABC President Margaret Ostrowski, QC.

During 2000/2001, Ms. Jakab-Hancock was very instrumental (along with Alison Narod) in advancing the Member Dispute Resolution Initiative, serving on the Equality and Diversity Committee, helping nominate lawyers for YWCA Women of Distinction awards, and assisting with two President’s forums.
