VANCOUVER, BC - The Canadian Bar Association BC Branch is pleased to announce the appointment of Joanne Silver as Director of Stakeholder Relations. Ms. Silver will be responsible for developing and managing strategies for enhancing relationships with CBABC stakeholders, including members, non-member lawyers and law firms, law-related organizations and the public.

Ms. Silver was most recently the Executive Director of an innovative research centre in endocrinology at the UBC Department of Medicine, following an extensive consulting career in senior management and relationship-building in the health, community service and NGO sectors. She was also Special Assistant to the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of BC during the tenure of the late Honourable Emery Barnes.

The Canadian Bar Association is a non-profit professional association serving the interests of lawyers throughout Canada. The Association provides direct service to its members and provides pro bono input to governments and courts at all levels, in order to further the development of the law.
