GVRD Residents Invited to Take a Law Class, Watch Alice in Wonderland on Trial

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
APRIL 21, 2005

VANCOUVER–The Canadian Bar Association will host an Open House in downtown Vancouver on Saturday, April 30 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at UBC Robson Square (800 Robson Street).

Take a walk through the Open House and come away informed. There will be several ways for people to learn about the law and their rights.

  1. Watch a mock trial--Alice has left Wonderland and will be on trial during the Open House. Elementary school students will perform this mock trial between 12:30 and 2:00 p.m.

  2. Hear from guest speakers, including the Chief Judges. These dignitaries will step up to the podium at 12:00 p.m.

  3. Talk with professionals at “Law and Order” information booths.

  4. Take a free law class. New this year, four 90-minute classes are being offered by the People’s Law School. These classes will educate on wills, child custody and support and employment standards. Space is limited, so arrive early.
