Law Week 2008 - April 14-20, 2008 Law Week is a national event that was originated by the Canadian Bar Association (CBA) in celebration of the signing of Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The CBA – through Law Day – offers the public an opportunity to learn about the law and the legal system. Law Day activities in most areas focus on high school students. The theme for Law Week 2008 is “Access to Justice.”
The Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch thanks the Law Week Committee members for their work in organizing the Law Week 2008 events. The Committee, chaired by Debbie Granger, includes Alison Campbell, Cindy Cheuk, Catherine Chow, William Clarke, Marika Giles, Nicole Zone Holas, Karla Koles, Beayue Louie, Forrest Nelson and Lisa Wyatt. Key partners includes: the People’s Law School, the Law Courts Education Society of British Columbia, Northern Lights College, Malaspina College-University and the Ministry of Attorney General of British Columbia.
