Canadian Bar Association, British Columbia To recognize the valuable contributions of our members serving the communities in our province, the CBABC sponsors Community Service Awards in each county. A limited number of awards are awarded in each county. The awards honour CBA members who have demonstrated outstanding dedication, service and commitment to the community. Service to the profession and contributions of a legal nature are not considered for these awards.
Eligibility To qualify for a Community Service Award, an individual must:

- be a member of the CBABC, but not a member of the Executive;
- have made exceptional contributions and/or achievements using his or her volunteer skills for the betterment of the community or a non-profit organization; and
- have had little or no recognition or previous awards.
Nominations Each nomination requires the signatures of two BC Branch members in good standing, and one non-lawyer member of the nominee’s community, preferably from an organization that has benefited from participation by the nominee. Nominations are valid for two years.
