This plan was developed by Meloche Monnex and the CBIA and is available to all members and law firm staff.

The Retiree Health & Dental Plan allows CBA members and law firm employees to continue their health and dental protection on an individual basis when they lose their group health coverage due to retirement or age restriction. By applying for this plan, you will continue to have a broad range of health and dental benefits after you retire.

Each new call to the Bar is automatically eligible to receive $100,000 of complimentary term life insurance. The insurance becomes effective on the first day of the month of the call and remains in force for one year. You do not need to pay premiums, provide any medical information, or purchase any additional insurance. At the end of the one year period, you have the opportunity to continue the insurance coverage by paying the premiums (premiums are based on age, gender and smoking status). There is no obligation to pay the premium and continue the coverage beyond the 12-month period. Even if you think that you don’t need life insurance now, at some point in the future you will and this is an excellent opportunity to purchase $100,000 of life insurance protection, at affordable rates, without providing medical information.
