A Call for Co-Reviewers and Practice Supervisors to Assist the Law Society
The Law Society invites BC lawyers to act as co-reviewers and/or practice supervisors and assist other lawyers with improving competency levels as part of the Practice Standards program. There is a particular need for lawyers who practise in the areas of wills, real estate, litigation or family law.
A co-reviewer accompanies a Law Society staff lawyer to conduct on-site practice reviews and develop recommendations aimed at improving a lawyer’s competency in areas that are identified as below standard. The co-reviewer is remunerated.
A practice supervisor is assigned to assist a lawyer requiring some on-going assistance. A practice supervisor monitors the recommended remedial measures and helps the lawyer’s practice to continue during the course of the remedial program. This involves anywhere from one to eight hours per month and, under some circumstances, may count toward CPD.
