Pressure builds for adequate funding
Through the efforts of the Access to Justice Coalition and Women’s Access to Legal Services (WALS) Coalition, supported by the BC Branch, efforts to gain more funding for Legal Aid are finally achieving significant profile and attention.


Future in Focus
The future, what does it hold? What will our profession be in 10 years? Will I still be practicing the way I always have, or will I be in a new environment: new rules of Court, new procedures, new client demands, new and expanded competition?

  1. Prepare Thoroughly
  2. Employ Strategies
  3. Do Not Cross-Examine
  4. Display a Love of Detail
  5. Be Clear
  6. Do Not Argue With Objections; Record Them
  7. Get Details, Not Conclusions, From Witnesses
  8. Lead Witnesses Only When Absolutely Necessary
  9. Be Conscious Of Opposing Counsel’s Skill Level
  10. Beware Of Diluting A Witness’ Answers
