 The Salvation Army Wants You

BarTalk August 2000
Volume 12, Number 4

In 1998, with the support of more than 170 BC lawyers, the Salvation Army’s Pro Bono program expanded throughout BC. The Pro Bono program also received financial and personnel support from the Salvation Army. This program is helping to fill a critical need in BC, proving to be a good mesh between the mission of the Salvation Army and the professional commitment of lawyers. With approximately 20 clinics in BC, and more planned for areas such as North Vancouver, Powell River, Burnaby, Chilliwack, Penticton, Trail, and Revelstoke, the Salvation Army is looking for continued commitment that has been displayed by BC’s legal profession thus far. If you would like to volunteer your services (a commitment of 2-3 hours once a month or once every two months), please email John Pavey, Central Coordinator, The Salvation Army BC Pro Bono Program at: John.pavey@sallynet.org or call 604.299.3908, ext 346.
