About
This section is geared towards lawyers who conduct legal research and wish to maintain and hone their research skills. Its diverse membership includes research and other lawyers with firms, the courts, government, corporations and law reform and other legal institutes; contract research lawyers; and law librarians in the private and public sectors. The section meets at least six times throughout the year and provides practical sessions on research processes and substantive legal topics. Topics in the past year included: an introduction to American legal research; lessons derived from the Supreme Court of Canada Tercon Contractors decision; WestlawCanada developments; the new Alberta Rules of Court; and new features on Quicklaw and Lexis.
