Purpose of the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join our growing Legal, Governance and Compliance team. As a Paralegal you will be an integral part of our high performing Legal, Governance and Compliance team, assisting in the preparation of legal documents and supporting with a range of legal governance matters.  The location of this role will be a hybrid work schedule based in our Vancouver or Toronto office. 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Drafting, reviewing and preparing legal documents.
  • Reporting, maintaining, and electronic filing of contracts and legal documentation. 
  • Monitoring, maintaining, and filing of all new corporate entities.
  • Supporting the team with governance matters including corporate records, document management, shareholder and board of director related materials and drafting of basic documents.
  • Conducting minute book reviews and maintenance for company records.
  • Providing overall support for the legal counsel and Legal, Governance & Compliance Team including monitoring legal invoices and payables, coordinating meetings, monitoring project timelines and email inboxes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of related work experience in a corporate paralegal or equivalent role (financial services experience is preferred).
  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in a related field and/or a Paralegal Certificate or Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution (preferred)
  • A high proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • The ability to effectively prioritize competing tasks and priorities.
  • A self-starter demonstrating a high degree of initiative.

This position comes with a competitive base salary hiring range of $80,000-$95,000; dependent on experience, skills, qualifications and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, we also offer:
